guichet.lu (Smishing)

Explanation

The goal of this smishing campaign is to steal personal information and credit card credentials.

The SMS claims that, due to a lack of response, a fine will be increased to a certain amount. It further states that this is the final reminder before a penalty is raised. The settlement of this debt can apparently be carried out via the attached link.

Clicking on this URL redirects the user to a landing page where the details of the supposed fine are summarised once again. Notably, the details on the website correspond to those provided in the SMS. Moreover, it is specified that the alleged offence involves illegal parking.

If one then clicks the ‘Continue’-button, they are prompted to provide personal information. The subsequent page requests bank card details.

All the steps have taken place on pages under the malicious domain ‘my-guichet-amende[.]help’ .
