Your Package is on Hold – Please Follow the Instructions to Release (2024-11-26)

Overview

Threat actors collecting personal and credit card information

Explanation

The goal of this phishing campaign is to steal personal and credit card information.

The landing page leads the user to believe that their shipment is on hold due to missing address data. They are requested to complete the information and to enter their email address to continue.

On the following page, personal information like names, email address and phone number are collected.

Then, the phishing page asks for the address.

After an optional comment is added, the attackers try to lure the user into entering their credit card data under the pretext of having to pay a re-delivery fee.

Prevention

If you are uncertain about the authenticity of an email, do not hesitate to contact the entity that seems to have sent you the email using a safe communication manner, using the phone for example (no phone number from the untrusted email must be used in order to verify the authenticity).
If you are working for the Luxembourgish government or are using any of the GOVCERT.LU services, it is important to forward phishing emails to us (using Reporting an incident or the Outlook button). This will allow us to take down phishing websites and protect members of our constituency.
